RUNWAY REVIEW: Lanvin Fall 2013

Alber Elbaz is one of my favorite designers for his personal style and the pieces he creates. I always enjoy his styling as well of the pieces. The accessories and shoes always compliment the looks and adds to them, instead of distracting. He also shows an incredible range by showing simple well-constructed pieces next to ornate, brilliant looks.  It almost reminds me of older fashion shows that transitioned between daywear to dresses to gowns and wedding.

In this collection, the first thing that caught my eye were the necklaces and belts with phrases like “cool”, “help” and “love” on them. They seem like something you can totally DIY and maybe I’ll try to do so! The pieces themselves are exquisite per usual thanks to the vintage silhouettes and textures. I loved the fur stoles and sheer long sleeves that were paired with the dresses. It kept the whole collection looking modern and sexy.

All in all, I love Lanvin and anything he touches turns to gold for me. My favorite look? The LBD with the plunging neckline and full skirt paired with the “love” belt. It’s a beautiful stand alone piece that could be dressed up or down plus would fit my body type perfectly!
