RUNWAY REVIEW: Versace Fall 2013

It’s no wonder with the Medusa medallion of Versace that the head of the house, Donatella Versace, is a goddess. The way she drapes and studs with PVC and leather is unmatched. Donatella called this collection “Vunk” as a mixture of punk and V for Versace. Some thought that this was because of the upcoming Costume Gala Exhibit surrounding punk fashion.

The collection itself had amazing draping and I loved the “punk bondage” look about it. The red leather was so well-tailored and sexy while the spiked harnesses added so much to every look. I loved the opening and closing twin looks as well, not for the actual pieces but for the fact that they displayed versatility and gave color choices.

Per usual, I firmly believe that the shoes are the best part of any Versace collection. The studding on those cowboy-ish boots (don’t you love my fashion terminology?) is patterned perfectly and so eye-catching. I would love a nude colored Versace collection with killer shoes like these. It’ll never happen, but a girl can dream, right?
